Q: What type of data or images can be stored in eGistics archives? A: Any type of data or file image in any format can be stored in eGistics archives . eGistics can integrate files and images into one online archive, and make it quickly available to multiple departments, clients or partners. Q: What special hardware or software is required to access images or data hosted on the eGistics archive? A: No specialized hardware or software needed. Images and data stored on eGistics archives can be accessed using any Internet capable computer with Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat's FREE reader. Q: How long does it take to get a eGistics online archive up and running? A: In as little as 90 days and eGistics online archive can be up and running. Customized programming or adding extensive telecommunications can take additional time. Q: Is archive access limited to licensed computers that require seat licenses? A: Images and data stored on the eGistics archive can be securely accessed anytime, from any Internet-enabled computer, with no seat licenses or specialized software needed. Which means greatly increased efficiency, flexibility and productivity for the client. Q: Does eGistics charge a "Hit Fee" or any other type of usage fees? A: eGistics charges a simple, one-time "load fee" when images or data are loaded onto the archive. After data is loaded, clients have unlimited access at no additional cost. Q: How much does it cost to store document images or data on the eGistics archives? A: Storage costs are calculated as a one-time "load fee," with no additional charges for unlimited retrieval during the term of the contract. The load fee per document or for data will vary depending upon: document length; the number of search indexes requested; the amount of data loaded; and the length of time images and data is to be stored in the archives. Other fees may apply for custom programming or other extra services. Q: Can image and data files be viewed on an intranet, or only on the Internet? A: eGistics develops custom interfaces that work on either the Internet or an existing intranet. Accessing the archive via intranet is transparent to the customer since the delivery site matches the client's intranet web site, and provides a seamless transition.
TECHNICAL FAQs Q: What file format is used to present images and data to clients? A: All files are presented as PDF files, and are readily presented using Adobe Acrobat's Free Reader. PDF files cannot be altered, and are easily transmitted for printing via e-mail. Q: How does eGistics ensure availability and protect the images and data stored in its archives? A: eGistics uses fully redundant, load-balanced archives to guarantee 99.9% uptime. A third copy of all data is also created daily and stored in an offsite vault. eGistics archives are housed in two data centers located at geographically distant sites to protect against local physical disasters, so your data is safe and available, almost no matter what. Q: Does accessing the archive via the Internet pose security risks? A: All files transmitted to and from the archive are encrypted using SSL (secure-socket layer) 128-bit encryption technology for the best possible security. For the utmost in security, files may also be transmitted to the archive using a private telecommunications line. Q: Are files from different clients stored on the same archive? A: Every client is furnished with a separate server, router and archive at both data centers. This prevents any possibility of clients accessing the wrong archive. Q: Do the data centers have full-time monitoring for physical and electronic security? A: The data centers are DoD, HIPAA and SAS 70 I & II compliant. Both locations are staffed round the clock, 365 days a year, and provide world-class physical security as well as continuous intrusion detection services (IDS). Q: How are images and data transmitted to the archive for storage? A: Image files may be generated by scanners, fax machines, high-speed bank processing equipment and other means. Data files may be generated by virtually any system. Files may be transmitted to the archive via private telecommunications lines, FTP transmissions, or loaded from CDs, DVDs, tape, or any other electronic format. eGistics will convert all file types for viewing on our customized platform. Q: Can eGistics scan documents to convert previously stored files? A: eGistics offers a complete turnkey operation for clients who need scanning, data entry or other services. Back-file conversion services include scanning large quantities of documents, and converting microfilm, CD, DVD or tape files. Services can be provided onsite or at eGistics locations. Q: Can eGistics accept image and data files in different formats and combine them for viewing from one archive? A: eGistics can convert virtually any file format to one standard platform for online viewing.
